Aust minister attends Vegas memorial

Public News - Hot News - Federal Trade Minister Steven Ciobo has told a Las Vegas memorial Australia staunchly stands beside America in the aftermath of the recent mass-killing.


Mr Ciobo laid a wreath on Thursday to honour the 58 killed when gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire on an open air concert from a suite in the Mandalay Bay casino on October 1.

"I wanted to take this opportunity while I was in Las Vegas to send a very strong and clear message - that message that Australia stands with you," Mr Ciobo, leading a delegation of 23 Australian tourism businesses to the IMEX America trade show in Las Vegas, told the ceremony.

Las Vegas-based Australian group Human Nature performed the Australian and US national anthems.
